AI Product UX/UI Engineer

About the Role

You sit at the intersection of Product Design, Frontend Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence. You understand that AI-native UX is fundamentally different — non-deterministic, context-aware, streaming, and conversational. You design for ambiguity and build for responsiveness. Equally fluent in Figma and React — and you find that combination thrilling. You have designed a UI that thinks, responds, and adapts. You know the difference between a loading spinner and a thoughtful AI skeleton state. You understand that streaming text is a design medium, not just a technical constraint.

What You'll Do

• •Design and build UIs for AI-powered features: conversational flows, real-time AI recommendations, intelligent dashboards
• •Establish AI UX patterns — streaming text, skeleton states, confidence indicators, graceful fallback states
• •Conduct user research specifically for AI features: how users interpret, trust, and override AI suggestions
• •Define the AI interaction design language for Virtuos products: when AI speaks, how it speaks, when it stays silent
• •Build production-grade React components — clean, maintainable, well-documented code
• •Implement real-time AI output rendering: streaming token display, loading orchestration, progressive revelation
• •Develop and maintain the Virtuos design system: shared components, tokens, typography, and spacing scales
• •Ensure all UIs meet WCAG standards, perform on mobile, and render consistently across devices
• •Use product analytics (Mixpanel, Hotjar) to measure UX performance and drive data-informed design decisions
• •Run A/B tests on AI feature UI variations; iterate based on engagement and satisfaction metrics
• •Use AI design tools (Galileo AI, v0.dev) and coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate delivery
• •Champion the user's perspective in every sprint — from API design to copy, not just visual layout

What We're Looking For

• •B.Tech in Computer Science, Design, or equivalent
• •3–6 years of combined UX/UI and frontend engineering experience
• •Portfolio with shipped product work
• •Production React components in live products
• •Figma Mastery: Components, auto-layout, variants, prototyping, developer handoff
• •Design Systems: Token-based design, shared component libraries, multi-brand theming
• •AI UX Patterns: Conversational UI, streaming states, confidence displays, error/fallback states
• •React: Functional components, hooks, context, state management (Redux/Zustand)
• •CSS & Tailwind: Responsive layouts, grid/flexbox, utility classes, CSS variables
• •Accessibility: ARIA roles, keyboard navigation, WCAG 2.1 AA, screen reader testing
• •Product Analytics: Mixpanel, Hotjar, FullStory — interprets funnels and heatmap data

Nice to Have

• •Designed or built an AI-powered interface
• •Experience with CX or EX product categories
• •Familiarity with conversational / chat UI patterns
• •Published design case studies or technical blog posts
• •AI Design Tooling: v0.dev, Galileo AI — uses AI to accelerate design, not replace thinking
• •LLM API Familiarity: Has integrated Claude/OpenAI/Gemini into a frontend product feature
